The Claflin Lions Club was organized November 25, 1940 under the sponsorship of the Great Bend Noon Lions Club. For
69
years this club has served this community in many ways:
- Annual financial contribution of $1,000.00 to the Claflin High School Scholarship.
- Annual Claflin Easteregg Hunt.
- Annual Bike Safety Check & registration.
- Financial contribution to Claflin school projects
(Weather Lab, handicap seating
@ Football Field)
- Financial contribution to Claflin recreation commission.
- Financial contribution to BCCC foundation.
- Members help with the local Recycling Program.
- Members gather & deliver used bikes to Ellsworth Correctional Facility
(inmates then rebuild the bikes for the needy children).
- Financial contribution to Clara Barton Hospital Foundation.
- Annual financial contribution to the Claflin After Prom Party.
- Members help at all Claflin High School home sporting events.
- Sponsor Claflin student to Lions State Band Camp.
- Sponsor Claflin student in Lions Peace Poster Contest.
- Hold Annual Candy Day (proceeds to KU Medical Center for eye research).
- Purchase eyeglasses for needy in Claflin area.
- Gather used eyeglasses in Claflin area, to be sent to eyeglass distribution center for use in other countries.
- Financial contribution to Leader Dog for the Blind.
- Community Projects
