Golden Belt Community Concert Association will begin its membership drive when volunteers pick up their packets on Sunday, March 18. The membership headquarters will be open at the Everything Under the Son at 407 McKinley, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 5, 6 & 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at which time persons can become Golden Belt Community Concert Association members who have not been approached by a volunteer previously.
The concert season is from September 2001 through April, 2002.
A single adult membership for the 2001-2002 concert season is $30. A single student membership is $ 10. A family membership which includes two adults and all of the children in the family living at home is $60.
This three week period is the only time memberships will be offered to the public.
Concerts being offered for the 2001-2002 season are:
- THREE MO' TENORS, direct from New York City's Broadway, featuring classical, jazz, gospel and more.
- NEW CENTURY SAXOPHONE QUARTET, featuring music that can be serious at times, funny at times and always a show case of their extreme talent.
- FRULA, an exciting group of dancers and musicians performing the exciting music and dance of their native Yugoslavia.
- THE WOOD'S TEA COMPANY, bring the wonderful music of Celtic, folk songs and more with the added enticement of instruments such as the dulcimer, penny whistle, guitar and fiddle..
Golden Belt Community Concert Association offers reciprocity with Pratt, Garden City and Dodge City (limited). New Golden Belt Community Concerts Association members will be admitted to the last concert of this season, ALBORADA, music of the Andes, played on Andiron instruments by the Batista family of Columbia, on Sunday, April 1, 2001 at 3:00 p.m.in the Great Bend, Municipal Auditorium.
