Golden Belt Community Concert Association will begin its membership drive when volunteers pick up their packets on Sunday, March 8. The membership headquarters will be open at the Holiday Inn, poolside, on Thursday and Friday, March 19 and 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at which time persons can become Golden Belt Community Concert Association members who have not been approached by a volunteer previously.
The concert season is from September, 1998 through May, 1999.
A single adult membership for the 1998-99 concert season is $25. A single student membership is $10. A family membership which includes two adults and all of the students in the family is $55.
This two week period is the only time memberships will be offered to the public.
Concerts being offered for the 1998-99 season are:
DIVA, no man's band. A 15 piece band of women, out of New York City, who offer a Big Band in the mode of Count Basie, Woody Herman and others.
AMERICAN RHAPSODY, celebrating the 100th birthdays of George and Ira Gershwin. Presented by Matt Davenport who brought us "Ropin' the West", features 8 singers and dancers in lavish costumes of the Gershwin era, an 18 piece orchestra and a beautiful multi-tiered set highlighting the fabulous music of the Gershwin brothers.
THE BROTHERS FOUR, well known for their music of the 60's to the 90's, including "Greensleeves", "This Land Is My Land" and many more. Their music is American Folk Music, Blue Grass and much, much more.
SIDE STREET STRUTTERS, 6 fabulous young men who have been performing at Disneyland since 1985. They are entertaining and personable whether they perform New Orleans Jazz or many other styles of music which keep your toes tapping and your lips smiling.
Golden Belt Community Concert Association offers reciprocity with Pratt, Lyons, Garden City and Dodge City (limited), however, only Golden Belt community Concerts Association members will be admitted to AMERICAN RHAPSODY.
